The Dog Days of Summer

With the dog days of summer officially here, we are hearing more and more about the problems pet owners are having with skin and coat issues! Often the guilty culprits are those tiny, pesky fleas and ticks that love this humid, summer weather.
We all dread them, because an infestation in your pet likely means infestation in your home! But putting aside the obvious nuisance that they create for us owners, these little bugs can also lead to severe health problems in pets.
Did you know that fleas and ticks may be causing your dog or cat’s skin irritation, open sores, or even their more serious diseases? It is shocking that many of us aren’t more aware because nearly 10% of all pets are estimated to have Lyme disease!
Once we found this out, we realized how important it is to raise awareness and by following a few simple suggestions, you can significantly heighten your pet’s enjoyment of these hot summer days.
In many cases all it takes to boost your pet’s immune system is a healthy diet for your cat or dog. Natural supplements can help provide the nutrients your pet needs.
For example, we discovered that adding Omega 3’s to your dog’s diet will not only improve the quality of their skin and coat, but it will actually improve their joint health as well!
We hope you enjoy this month’s newsletter, and that you find it helpful in protecting your furry family members from some of the common health issues they face.
As always, be sure to let us know what you think!! We would love to hear about the topics you want to see in our upcoming newsletters, answer your questions or even just read your comments about our articles. We wish you and your pet good health!
So, send us an email at editor@nativeremedies.com and tell us what you think.

QUESTION
"I enjoyed your newsletter. I was wondering if you could address the problem of lyme and what natural remedies there are to avoid the dogs being bitten by ticks. I feed raw and try not to give drugs unless necessary but there is not a holistic vet near me and the ones that are two -three hours away are almost impossible to get into see and I don't have the flexibility to travel that far on a regular basis. If they do show positive for lymes what to do after the antibiotics are give. If there is anything to do. Are there any natural products for heartworm and the rest of the worms protection? I would like have more information about what your products can do for prevention." - Sharleen

Testimonials
Find Out How Pet Alive Has Helped Other Pets!
"Your PetAlive FleaDerm remedy has helped my Staffie so much! In the past she used to spend half her day scratching and biting at her skin - even rubbing against trees and other rough surfaces she could find - to the point that her skin became red, raw and weepy. Her hair started to fall out and she ended up with little bald patches all over her! After embarking on an intensive flea-ridding program as well as using your FleaDerm cream on her skin the situation has almost completely resolved. I must just wait a few more weeks for hair to grow back properly now! It is fantastic to see her comfortable and playful again - thanks for a wonderful remedy!" - Holly
"A combination of Pet Skin and Coat Tonic and the LiverAid has made a huge difference to the overall condition of my husky who has always had a problem with eczema and scratching due to her thick coat. I am trying the Flatulence Preventer next as we seem to have a problem with that too. Thank you for your help and speedy advice in my times of need! I am recommending your website to all of my friends!" - Lynda K.
"We used TF-Defense along with antibiotic treatment for Lyme Disease although at first our vet thought that we were wasting our time. He has changed his attitude after the full recovery and we have continued with the Immunity and Liver Support with his blessing! There has been such a quick recovery with no lingering illness as is usually the case." - Mike M.
"Give me natural treatment anytime. I use it for myself and it is so wonderful to find a company doing the same thing for our animals! Your TF-Defense has been wonderful and helped our dog to recover after she contracted Lyme disease while on vacation. I will always be grateful for the kind and prompt support!" - Lydia |
