Is Going Natural Going Mainstream?
Evidently it is very cool these days to have an interest in yoga or natural healing. I was very surprised (pleasantly of course) to read this week that more than one third of all Americans use some form of alternative medicine to enhance personal health.
Although alternative medicine can involve a very wide range of activities and products, I learned that we spend more than 5 billion dollars each year on herbal products alone and those are out of pocket dollars not health insurance.
So, saying that herbal healing and natural remedies are part of a growing industry doesn't do it justice - the industry is literally booming. And as their use becomes more accepted on a personal level by so many citizens, (our Native Remedies products are way ahead here), medical and clinical authorities are standing up and taking notice as well.
For instance, recently the American Society of Clinical Oncologists released an incredibly important report for the legitimacy of natural remedies.
They discovered that Ginseng worked remarkably well as a complementary treatment for cancer patients, and that Flaxseed actually has the power to slow the growth of prostate tumors. (Read our article “American Society of Clinical Oncologists Report Endorses use of Natural Remedies”).
This is definitely exciting news, not to mention encouraging; and it does in turn mean that more and more people will gain interest in using herbal products for personal health.
While this is positive step, we now have to consider where these millions of people are buying herbal remedies and how to educate them on choosing the highest quality products available. (Read our article “Our Full Spectrum Method of Extraction Now Validated by Duke University Study as Being Most Effective”).
Did you know that in order for herbal remedies to be the most effective and result in the fewest side effects, they have to be made according to certain standards?
For example, the same study released on Flaxseed was careful to point out that the results they obtained when comparing how whole ground Flaxseed affected prostate tumors verses Flaxseed Oil were very different.
Be sure to read our article on the merits of the Full Spectrum Method of herbal remedy production, which seeks to provide only the highest quality and most effective herbal and homeopathic products possible.

American Society of Clinical Oncologists Report Endorses use of Natural Remedies
As the worldwide acceptance of alternative medicine increases, so does the number of Americans taking the responsibility of personal health into their own hands. Studies conducted by the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) reveal that more than thirty-six percent of Americans are using complementary and alternative medicine to help treat and prevent disease and enhance their quality of life.
Natural remedies are an essential component of alternative medicine, with more than 5 billion out-of-pocket dollars spent each year on herbal products in the United States alone, according to national surveys conducted by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. As the use of natural remedies becomes more widespread and accepted by the general population, they have gained increasing respect from the medical community as well.Read More >
Our Full Spectrum Method of Extraction Now Validated by Duke University Study as Being Most Effective
Although the use of herbal products is a growing trend worldwide, many people are not fully informed of what they should be looking for in a market where there is such a wide range of natural remedies and treatments available.
One of the most interesting points raised by a recent Duke University study on Flaxseed was the different results obtained when using various forms of the herb - ground whole Flaxseed vs. Flaxseed oil extract.
Over the course of their study, researchers found that while using ground Flaxseed resulted in a lower growth rate of prostate cancer cells, using the oil extract had no positive effect on the growth of the cells.Read More >

"Your products sound very interesting; however, before I try them I have several questions: Has there been any studies to determine if any of your products will react negatively with prescription drugs? Also, which of your products will produce adverse reactions when taken together? I plan to discuss this with my doctor, but doctors usually advise against herbal supplements that they themselves are not familiar with. How do you handle this kind of skepticism? Also, has anyone ever had an adverse reaction to any of your products, and what was your response to their complaints? Did you take responsibility? Thanks for your help. I look forward to hearing from you."
We couldn't agree with you more! There are so many companies who are selling 'natural' remedies that are so far from their natural state as to be as bad as the pharmaceutical drugs!
We manufacture all of our remedies based on the Full Spectrum method, which means that we do not isolate and extract the active ingredients of herbs, which is done by making use of harsh solvents and upsetting the natural balance and integrity of the herbs.
Some companies often motivated, more by profit than by ethics and Good Manufacturing Practice, extract and isolate what they feel to be the active ingredients, which are then marketed as being 'standardized extracts' which are claimed to be superior to herbs which do not carry this claim. Nothing could be further from the truth!
Naturopaths know that using the whole herb and not isolated extracts will not only produce best results, but also include the protective properties that each herb carries within it, thereby reducing side effects. A 'good' example is the case of Kava Kava, which has been safely used by native Polynesians for centuries. Since Kava Kava has been taken over by the large pharmaceutical companies (who make use of standardized extracts of kavalactones), this herb has had to be pulled from the market in some countries due to deaths caused by liver toxicity - a side effect unknown in the past.
As you can imagine this has had a devastating effect on the economies of Kava Kava farming countries, while the pharmaceutical companies have simply gone on to exploit another herb.
When we say that we manufacture according to the highest pharmaceutical standards, we do not mean that the integrity of our herbs is in any way affected. We do, however, manufacture in sterile conditions and ensure that no contamination enters the manufacturing process. All our remedies are manufactured 'in-house' and none are brought in from elsewhere, enabling us to have full control over quality and safety.
All ingredients are purchased from reputable suppliers preferably organically grown if possible. We also ensure that wild crafted herbs do not compromise the integrity and balance of the environment and are grown far away from sources of pollution and electricity pilons. All raw material is purchased with an accompanying Certificate of Analysis.
On receipt, it goes into quarantine until further in-house tests are completed and released by our pharmacist, ensuring that the herbs are fresh and not contaminated by any impure substances (e.g. heavy metals or bacterial infections.) We can therefore assure you that the remedies have very high safety profiles and there is no danger of side effects or interactions both with the remedies themselves and most prescription medications.
We have not had any reports of interactions with prescription medications but we have clearly identified those remedies which may have an increased (though very small) risk of a reaction if used with certain medications. for example, the remedy MindSoothe for depression must not be used with other antidepressant medications as it contains the ingredient St John's Wort.
We have also included warnings in terms of pregnancy and breastfeeding in some of the remedies. We suggest that you go through our ailment list and have a look at our remedies and if there is anything that you are specifically interested in we would be happy to have our team of trained health consultants advise you appropriately. We look forward to being of service to you.
